Veneto Night - Stelle e via... Institutions
Stars and Travels is an art and science exhibition, ideated by Gloria Vallese, and entirely created by professors and students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. It stems from the discovery that the main portal of San Marco in Venice contains an early, extraordinary sculptural representation of the celestial sphere (half of the 13th century), with stars and constellations represented not only in Western iconography, but according to a vast range of languages rom North Europe to India and China (Le stelle i viaggi/Un ciclo astronomico nel portale centrale della Basilica di San Marco a Venezia,«Annuario ABAV 2015», pp. 235-276). Professors and students have created an exhibition rich in new documentary material, and in expressly created sculptures and audiovisual installations, one of which meant to allow access to the newly-discovered content to visitors with visual and motor disabilitie.
